UNOCT is a fairly new yet crucially important committee of the UN which focuses on battling modern terrorism on all fronts. From establishing workshops throughout Central Asia to assisting African nations with their own conflicts of extremism, the UNOCT provides several facets to its approach which looks to dismantle the ever-growing threat of terrorism. Groups like ISIS, Boko Haram and the Taliban have all brought about significant destabilization of the world, and the terrorist organizations' oftentimes "multinational" influence has made it so that the battle with terror is not one that is unilateral, but a joint effort, now headed by the UN that looks to exterminate all harm brought about by terrorist groups. Delegates will have to use their own nations' unique experience with terrorism and their past actions to combat said terrorism building a foundation that will rid the world of organizations that have cost so many their lives.​
