Secretary General
Danila Volkov
Meet Danila Volkov, a founding member of the Wise Wood MUN club. Danila is a full IB student in grade twelve who has a deep passion for learning anything, including subjects like mathematics, philosophy, psychology, literature, etc. Danila is fascinated by diplomacy and strategy, and finds MUN to be the most interesting club activity by far. Danila's favourite hobbies are reading books and playing chess, in which he has won four tournaments in a row placing first. He has had a wonderful experience with MUN, winning many awards, including best delegate. He has deep connections in the nation of Kyrgystan, including the government, secret service, court system, police, etc. and his enemies disappear there. He has made many friends within MUN, and he is ecstatic to welcome everyone to come and do the same at WiseMUN.

Divakar Gaba
Meet Divakar Gaba, a dedicated Grade 12 IB student with an unwavering passion for Model United Nations. As a recipient of many awards, such as Best Delegate, Divakar's enthusiasm for global affairs is nothing short of inspiring, as he continuously seeks to expand his knowledge of international issues. In his free time, you'll often find him engrossed in researching historical events in the subcontinent, demonstrating his commitment to fostering a deeper appreciation of the rich tapestry of South Asian history and its global impact. Divakar also enjoys playing basketball with his friends when he's not immersed in MUN activities. As a prospective lawyer, he brings a keen analytical mind to the table, and with his inquisitive nature and fervour for diplomacy, Divakar is excited to meet each delegate at the first ever WiseMUN conference.

David Taciune
Meet David Patrick Taciune, one of the founding members of the Wise Wood Model United Nations and the Chief of Staff for WiseMUN. A Romanian-born IB student with a great passion for history and especially the Roman Empire, David has received the award of Best Delegate twice, is one of the former National Champions of Taekwondo in Canada, has attended the International Student Council meeting in Japan, danced Walz for members of the Hungarian Parliament, was one of the finalists in the Albertan Heritage fair, speaks some amount of 5 different languages and enjoys to ski in the winter. But of all his achievements, this Model United Nations Conference is his proudest by far. He remains ecstatic to welcome all to the first ever Henry Wise Wood Model United Nations Conference, and hopes to see you there.

Omar Negmeldin
USG of Technology
Meet Omar Negmeldin, a driven Grade 12 IB student with an insatiable passion for various fields, including history, mathematics, cardiology, and global affairs. When he isn't immersed in his studies or fervently working to make WiseMUN 2023 an extraordinary conference, you'll find him engaged in volunteer work and pursuing his diverse range of extracurricular interests. These include spearheading his own club, Neuron Networking, actively leading and participating in clubs such as STEM, Interact Club, and Business Club, and volunteering outside of school, all while nurturing his keen interests in various fields. For Omar, Model United Nations is not just an extracurricular activity but a powerful platform for shaping the future leaders of tomorrow, fostering global understanding, and forming connections across the city and sometimes even outside.
Riyaan Minsariya
USG of Technology
Meet Riyaan Minsariya, a grade 12 student driven to learn more. Nothing stops his pursuit of knowledge when it comes to learning new concepts of varying topics. He has skills that help him excel in technology, trade work, sciences, and history. Not only is he diverse, but so are all his skills and knowledge. Outside of school, he is a founder to a Club, Neuron Networking, alongside Omar Negmeldin. He also has a major role in logistics, maintainence, audio-visuals, service, and catering at his mosque. He is part of many clubs and associations within and outside of school ranging from Shad Waterloo 2023 to MUN. Model United Nations is a major interest of Riyaan as it allows him to utilize all his skills on his feet and connect with individuals from around.
Faisal Al-Taie
USG of Media
Meet Faisal Al-Taie, a senior delegate for Henry Wise Wood Model UN and a grade 12 student who is passionate about debate, programming, business and engineering. Faisal is the Undersecretary General of Media and is looking forward to helping progress WiseMUN for all to enjoy. Faisal is highly devoted to Model UN, attending more than 4 conferences and winning several awards and commendations.
Anvaya Srivastava
USG of Media
Meet Anvaya Srivastava, a long-time delegate in Model UN and experienced public speaker. Passionate about MUN, graphic design, and media, Undersecretary General of Media was simply a position too good to pass up for him. Outside of his business with diploma IB, you can probably find Anvaya dabbling in philosophical books such as Dune, or cooking up some electronic music.
Rin Endovitskaya
USG of Delegate Affairs
Meet Rin Endovitskaya, a grade 11 IB student who’s super psyched to be a part of Wisewood’s first Model United Nations conference! This is her second year with the club, and she is the other half of the Under-Secretary General of Delegate Affairs team. Rin has developed her public speaking skills and diplomacy greatly within Model UN, making many valuable connections and friendships in conferences across the city. She loves to continuously build her knowledge of world issues and international relations, as well as different languages and cultures. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for the food bank, boxing, and long hikes. She is always happy to answer any questions about the club and the upcoming conference, and hopes to see you at WISEMUN this December!
Emma Arhip
USG of Delegate Affairs
Meet Emma Arhip, a Full IB 11th grader, dedicated about what she does. She joined Model UN for college applications and stayed for the environment. She does Link Crew and helps around her school to the best of her abilities. She is a bookworm in her spare time, usually engrossed in a political fantasy or sci-fi novel. As half of the USG of Delegate Affairs, she is very excited to see you at the first ever WiseMUN conference!
Rafay Kamran
USG of External Affairs
Meet Rafay Kamran, a career oriented Grade 12 student who has an unmatched interest in diplomacy and foreign affairs. Rafay is exuberant about acting as the Under-Secretary General of External Affairs and thrilled for the iteration of WiseMUN. When he’s not involved in the intense atmosphere of Model UN, you can find Rafay acting as the Co-President of Henry WiseWood’s law club, further expanding the social skills that are incorporated in Model UN. Rafay can’t wait to meet you all and make WiseMUN a major success.
Surya Nandhi
USG of External Affairs
Meet Surya Nandhi, a Grade 12 student who acts as the USG of External Affairs, and the Vice Chair for the UNOCT GA in WiseMUN 2023. He is fascinated by all things related to MUN, and when he is not studying or preparing for the upcoming conference he can be found listening to all kinds of music or playing basketball.
Dawood Sadek
USG of Committees
Meet Dawood Sadek, one of the founding members of HWW Model United Nations and Undersecretary General of Committees for WISEMUN23. Having attended numerous Crisis Committees, Dawood hopes to create a truly memorable Crisis Committee at WISEMUN alongside David Taciune. Dawood is an IB student, Member of the Chief Superintendent's Student Advisory Council, attende of the Western Canada Leadership Conference, and decorated Canadian Army Cadet. Dawood believes that MUN has not only been a crucial life skill, but a place where great friendships and battles of rhetoric take place.
Benjamin Goud
USG of Committees
Meet Benjamin Paulus Goud, an IB student in Grade 11 whos interested in various academics, debate, and above all else, Model UN. He is highly committed to Model UN, and is willing to work hard to be the best delegate he can be. For the upcoming Wise Wood Model UN, Benjamin is the USG of Committees, and works with the Chief of Staff to help make the Crisis Committee. Besides Model UN, he is interested in video games, hiking, and cross country skiing.
Ekam Mann
Deputy Director General
Meet Ekam Singh Mann, a Junior IB student trying to do something with his life. After coaching his basketball team to a championship, winning multiple awards as a highly-decorated Air Cadet and serving as an executive with Youth Leaders in Law Calgary, HWW Law Club and HWW STEM Club, Ekam is on yet another side quest with MUN, where he has attended conferences across the nation and won multiple major awards. When he’s not busy debating any possible issue in the world or reading the Air Cadet drill manual, Ekam can often be found immersed in the Star Wars universe, where his encyclopedic knowledge of the series never fails to impress. It is his goal to make WiseMUN the best conference in Calgary.
Bhuvi Goyal
Deputy Chief of Staff
Meet Bhuvi Goyal, a grade 11 student at Henry Wise Wood High School. This is her second year participating in Model United Nations conferences, and she is the Deputy Chief of Staff for WiseMUN 2023. Some of her other extracurricular activities include debate, band, air cadets, and girl guides. She is very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the first ever WiseMUN conference!
