Meet Our Upper Secretariat

Co-Secretary General
Jeet Garg
Q: What was your favorite committee and why?
A: LBPMUN 2024 NATO vs SCO, absolutely surreal experience with my friends with a great location and guest speaker. 10/10 would recommend.
Meet Jeet Garg, an IB student entering his last year of school. For Jeet, Model UN has been a fantastic journey of growth and memories. From discussing the laws of space to nuclear proliferation, he absolutely loves the simulation of real challenges within MUN. Starting out from the tenth grade, he joined due to his deep fascination with politics and history. For him, Model UN has become an outlet for him to connect with other students and think critically on the issues of today. Aside from Model UN, you may find him engaged in other activities such as leading business club or obsessing over a Japanese car. Look for him in FIFA, the décor will show another interest of his! Ecstatic to work with the whole WiseMUN Team he looks forward to seeing all of you in December.

Co-Secretary General
Ved Agwekar

Meet Ved Agwekar, a senior at Henry Wise Wood High School, taking the International Baccalaureate certificate program. The summer before high school, while watching Never Have I Ever, he was introduced to the world of Model United Nations. What started as a binge-watch quickly turned into a defining part of his high school journey. Since then, he’s built lasting friendships and experiences that have shaped his growth. But MUN is one part of his journey. Outside the committee rooms, Ved balances various part-time jobs, commitments that have taught him discipline, patience, and the value of connecting with others from all walks of life. You can find him either on the court taking shots or in his room working through math questions. The challenges he faces only serve to push his drive to work harder, and that determination is evident in all his pursuits. Ved is thrilled to serve as your Secretary-General for WiseMUN 2025 and looks forward to welcoming everyone this December!
Q: What was your favorite committee and why?
A: CASHMUN 2025 | HCC (First Chechen War) - Doing my first crisis committee in Vancouver while travelling with friends made the whole experience feel like an unforgettable adventure.

Director General
Ali Abzakh
Q: What was your favorite committee and why?
A:WiseMUN '23 - Dune (It was my second experience, 1st award, and best FunMUN experience I've had!)
By the time this edition of WiseMUN rolls around, it will have been 803 days since Ali Abzakh first took part in his first Model UN practice session. Since then, Model UN has been one of the most impactful and rewarding extracurricular experiences Ali has ever taken part of. Not only has Model UN taught him innumerable soft skills, but it has also given him a massive network of friends, colleagues, and peers. This year, Ali is lucky enough to be hosting WiseMUN alongside three of his closest friends and delegates. In fact, ever since all of WiseMUN's Upper Secretariat were in the same committee (FowlerMUN '23 - Interpol), it's been an incredible journey of cooperation and friendly competition!
This year, Ali hopes that delegates will stretch their creative muscles through the use of props, acting, and skits to showcase sides of Model UN that often get overshadowed by the pressing and serious topics of committees. Outside of MUN, Ali is passionate about photography and videography, strategy and city-building video games, and loves discovering new spots within our city! Ali is beyond excited to provide the most meaningful and impactful capstone conference not only for WiseMUN's secretariat, but all delegates who choose to attend the third iteration of WiseMUN.

Chief of Staff
Sofia Ibrahimi
Q: What was your favorite committee and why?
A:My favourite committee was OHCHR at WiseMUN 2024 because I loved chairing, seeing everyone’s hard work come together, and representing delegate affairs at the time.
Who can wrangle twelve cats, run a MUN conference, and (sometimes) still make it to rehearsal on time? Sofia Ibrahimi here! Sofia is a Grade 12 IB student whose energy is matched only by her dedication to the communities she’s part of. As Chief of Staff for WiseMUN, she brings her experience and committee leadership, alongside a passion for creating spaces where everyone feels welcome. Outside of MUN, Sofia is rarely far from a stage. As a devoted actor, she has performed in school plays, theatre intensives, and student film projects, finding in theatre the same thrill of voice and character that she treasures in Model UN.
For Sofia, Model UN has always been about more than public speaking; it’s about laughter in committee sessions, meeting people who become lifelong friends, and collecting the kind of memories that last long after the gavel falls. When she’s not writing speeches or memorizing lines, you’ll probably find her planning out her senior year or spending time with friends, so don’t be afraid to give her a wave if you see her around! She’s ready to make WiseMUN 2025 the best one yet, and she can’t wait to meet you all!
